KUALA LUMPUR, Jan. 20 (Xinhua) -- Badminton players from China seized two gold medals as the Proton Malaysia Open Badminton Super Series 2008 closed here on Sunday.  China's mixed double pair He Haibin/Yu Yang fought a quick battle against their South Korean rivals Lee Yong Dae/Lee Hyo Jung with 21-14 and 21-15 and secured the title in the mixed doubles.

China's women double pair Gao Lin/Zhao Tingting met their teammates Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen, but the battle between them was quiet fierce. Yang Wei/Zhang Jiewen managed to overcome Gao Lin/Zhao Tingting and captured the gold with 21-13,16-21 and 24-22.

However, Chinese shuttlers missed the major titles in the men's singles and women's singles.

Zhu Lin, a promising Chinese female badminton player, lost her chance for the title when she met with Denmark's Tine Rasmussen inthe women's singles.

Zhu opened her fight with Rasmussen well, but seemed very tired and weak in the later battle, sending the shuttle to the net frequently or failing many times to make any response to the shuttle falling down right at the margin of the court.

Rasmussen took away the gold medal from Zhu after a difficult encounter of 18-21, 21-19 and 21-18, sending Zhu to the second place.

All of China's male shuttlers, including Bao Chunlai, Chen Yu and Chen Jin, were knocked out of the competition before they reached the final in the men's singles.

Chen Yu, the last Chinese male shuttler, was defeated by Malaysian's top player Lee Chong Wei in the semifinal on Saturday.

China's male pair Cai Yun/Fu Haifeng also lost their chance to obtain the title in the men's doubles after they lost to Danmark's pair Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen with 16-21, 21-19 and 17-21 on Saturday.

Indonesian Markis Kido/Hndra Setiawan beat Denmark's Lars Paaske/Jonas Rasmussen 21-10, 20-22 and 21-18 and bagged the gold medal in the men's doubles.
