The five-time Japan Open champion (2007, 2010, 2012, 2013, and 2014) will look to secure his fifth Japan Open Superseries championship in Tokyo from Sept 20 to Sept 25.

While busy attending various incentive presentation ceremonies, Lee has already started training for the tournament.

“We have slowed down our training after the Rio Olympics. Nevertheless, we will be fully prepared before heading to Tokyo.”

“This is an important tournament to me, because the Japan Open is offering points to qualify for the Dubai World Superseries Finals and only eight players will be listed,” said Lee at the Proton Excellence Centre where Rio Olympic medal winners were presented with the Proton Perdana 2.4L cars.

In a separate interview, Lee’s coach Hendrawan also said Lee had worked very hard for the Rio Olympics, he would like Lee to enjoy all tournaments for the rest of the year. Therefore, he did not set any goals for Lee until the beginning of 2017.
