PASIR GUDANG, March 30 -- Malaysian men's doubles pair Goh V Shem/Lim Khim Wah failed to shine at the most appropriate time, losing 17-21, 20-22 to Danny Bawa Chrisnanta/Chayut Triyachart from Singapore in the final of the Yonex Sunrise Malaysia Grand Prix Gold, here Sunday.Champions fall to Singapore's Danny-Chayut as Malaysia end up with nothing

The duo who had won the 2014 Malaysian Open Super Series in January failed to produce a performance that was worthy of the title and lost the first game 17-21.

V Shem/Khim Wah tried hard to make a comeback in the second game and force a rubber set but their spirited fight back ended in a 20-22 defeat.

"We did not face any pressure, just that they played better today and their strategy worked. Backed by a strong crowd, we tried very hard but still could not overcome our opponents," said Khim Wah.

The men's singles title was won by Simon Santoso of Indonesia who defeated Sourabh Varma from India, 15-21, 21-16, 21-19 while the women's singles title went to China's Yao Xue who beat Adrianti Firdasari from Indonesia 21-18, 21-8.

The women's doubles title saw an all China affair with Yu Xiaohan/Huang Yaqiong beating their Ou Dongni-Xiong Mengjing 22-20, 12-21, 21-18.

The mixed doubles title also went to China when Lu Kai/Huang Yaqiong defeated Jordan Praveen/Debby Susanto from Indonesia 21-14, 21-13.
