Goh Liu Ying-Chan Peng Soon reunited in Singapore Open

Singapore: Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying were split up 2 months ago when Goh was planning to undergo knee surgery. However, after few weeks of consultations with the medical team, instead of going for knee surgery, Goh LiuYing changed her mind and opted for aprogramme with the National Sports Institute (NSI) to strengthen her injury-prone knees. The duo will resume their partnership in Singapore Open which begins on Wednesday.Goh Liu Ying is back in action with Chan Peng Soon

This year, the pair only played at the Malaysian Open in January where they lost in the second round to Indonesia’s Praveen Jordan-Debby Susanto.

Singapore: Malaysia's independent shuttler Mohd Arif Abdul Latif who left Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) last July made it to the main draw of the Singapore Open by defeating Siswanto of Indonesia 21-16, 21-11 in his first game, and then scoring a comprehensive win over Singaporean Ashton Chen with 21-18, 21-19 on Tuesday.The 21-year-old Yang Li Lian will have a chance to learn from the world No. 2 Wang Yihan in the main draw.

Arif once ranked No. 30 in the world has plummeted to No. 89 despite winning the Malaysian International Challenge last November. He is going to play India’s B. Sai Praneeth in the first round of the main draw.

Britain's first national badminton league starts in October

Britain will have its own national badminton league this October that will set of rules and own set of format. A new format is intended to make matches shorter but the details have yet to be finalized.

"Under the new rules, games will get to critical points quicker; it is going to be very exciting for the fans and the players. It's going to be non-stop action, and no-interruption to games," said Badminton England chief executive Adrian Christy.Chris and Gabby Adcock could be playing in the newly formed Britain's National Badminton League
